MASS FOR EVERYONE
On Wed 14th December at 6.30pm I am holding Ecumenical and Interfaith Mass at Etherow Garden Centre in Compstall. This is a service in which everyone is invited, whatever their denomination or religion. Mass should be available to ALL without exception. I wish to express great thanks to Maggie from the garden centre for allowing me to use her premises. There are plenty of delightful Christmas gifts and treats available at Etherow Garden Centre - and don't forget, there are beautiful Scandinavian Christmas Trees for sale too.
Mass should also be enjoyed by those of other religions - even if they participate with Mohammed, Buddha, Vishnu in mind or are in simply in awe of the universal impact of the healing works of Jesus Christ. Even those without faith are welcome to come and join in and enjoy the fellowship and peace of this event. The mass will be held outdoors, in the cathedral of nature; if it is raining then a canopy will be put up.
The service will be simple - a short ceremony of prayer and thanksgiving followed by the Holy Meal, or giving of mass, which will carry on for as long as people come up for it. You do not have to attend the whole service and can come up for mass only if you like. If you want me to say prayers for anyone who is sick or in trouble, then I can do so. I will also be available after mass for any spiritual counselling that anyone might want.
Also, on Sunday 18th December, I will be distributing sandwiches to the homeless in Manchester City Centre with the help of some lovely volunteers. If anyone has anything they could contribute to this venture then please contact me on 07875 687 121. God Bless.
